Scotland reaches out for Small Countries Division gold

Scotland made a serious statement demanding the gold medals in the Small Countries Division of the 2014 CEV U20 Volleyball European Championship - Men on Saturday evening by claiming the 3 points against the home team of Luxembourg at d’Coque competition hall. On the second competition day in the Grand Duchy, with CEV President André Meyer watching the game from the stands, the northerners won the match between the two victors from the first day by 3:1 (25-21, 25-23, 12-25, 25-17). To win the title and leave Luxembourg and Northern Ireland fight for the silver, all the Scotts have to do on the last competition day on Sunday is defeat the absolute debutants from Wales.
No surprises came from the first match of the second competition day. Northern Ireland shutout Wales by 3:0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-22) in about an hour’s time.
